Tracer Gas Testing and IH Testing Services

Exhaust is often used to control the emission of hazardous chemical vapors to the work area when hazardous chemicals are used in semiconductor production equipment or industrial machinery. SEMI F15 is the prescribed method for tracer gas testing and gas chromatography for semiconductor production machinery. Tracer gas testing can be used to assess employee exposure to hazardous chemical vapors and/or the potential build up of flammable vapors in enclosures or the surrounding environment. Where hazardous chemistry is used, industrial hygiene testing is prescribed by SEMI S2 to measure chemical vapor concentrations or exposures during normal operations and maintenance activities.

NSS can perform tracer gas and industrial hygiene tests as required to ensure equipment conforms to the requirements of the applicable standards and requirements.Tracer gas testing can be performed to optimize enclosure exhaust and verify conformance to requirements of applicable standards.

Component Testing and Evaluation

Generally, components and parts used in machinery and equipment must to conform to international standards.Where verification that components meet requirements of these standards is not available, NSS can test components to international standards for safety, performance, or reliability either in our laboratory or at your facility. NSS Laboratory procedures conform to the stringent requirements of ISO/IEC 17025, General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories. Where required, Certificates of Conformity are issued based on the chosen product standards.

FDA (CDRH) Evaluation and Registration

Laser products used in the United States must conform to the requirements of OSHA 21 CFR 1040.10, Laser Products. Additionally, laser products must be registered with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and include a technical evaluation to this standard. Where a registered laser product is used in a machine, a laser product report must be developed for the machine and the machine must be registered.

NSS can prepare the laser product technical evaluation report and perform the registration process through the U.S. FDA. NSS has performed this service for many of our clients.
